Despite high winds and torrential rain, over forty volunteers, staff and supporters gathered at St Luke’s Church Seaford for HOMELINK’s Annual Meeting on Saturday 2nd October. The inclement weather however did little to dampen the joy of finally being able to meet together for HOMELINK’s annual meeting which has been postponed for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
HOMELINK patrons, supporters, local Mayors, Lewes District councillors and HOMELINK church representatives were all present at the meeting which was opened by the Revd Barbara Evans-Routley, HOMELINK’s Methodist patron. Reports from the HOMELINK team followed and included an insightful presentation from HOMELINK’s Client Manager, Gary Brettle, which set out the current challenges for local residents facing housing crises in the Lewes District area.
The Revd James Hollingsworth, minister at St Leonard’s and St Luke’s, brought the meeting to a close which was followed by hearty informal discussions over tea and biscuits.
Thank you to everyone who braved the elements to attend our annual meeting – it was a delight to be able to meet together again as a community of HOMELINK supporters.
