Home is where the craft is...

Welcome to the ‘Home is where the craft is’ community challenge.

We’re calling makers of any age, and any ability, to make and donate a handcrafted item for the home or garden to help support our new #homes4families campaign.

Try a new craft, join forces with friends and family, or simply show-off your skills – we’re inviting you to create something special that you’d be willing to donate to our online community auction to raise funds and awareness for HOMELINK’s new #homes4families campaign https://leweshomelink.org.uk/campaigns/

Need some inspiration? The ‘queen of crafts’ herself, Linda Barker, will be supporting the challenge:

You’ve got until September 21st to submit your finished piece.

Submitted items can be made using any medium or material.

Linda and her panel will be judging your efforts – winners will be picked, prizes allocated and shortlisted pieces put forward into a unique online #homes4families auction that will open for bidders on 26th September.

Don’t think you’re crafty enough? Don’t worry – we’d love to see you have a go and share your efforts with us anyway. We’ll showcase your submissions online and there will be prizes for ‘Outstanding Effort’, ‘Best Craft Newcomer (under16’s)’, ‘Best Team/Family Effort’, and the wildcard category – ‘Judges’ Favourite’ – there’s really no excuse to not get making!

Winners and prizes will all be announced on ‘World Homeless Day’ October 10th during a special online event; it will also be the last chance for bidders to bid for items before the auction closes at 9pm.

So, why not ‘make’ a difference over the coming weeks and have a go? You’ll be helping support vulnerable local families into homes, and have lots of fun along the way.

How to take part

Please use the form to submit an entry.

By submitting you are offering to donate your item for auction in aid of the #homes4families fundraising appeal. There are a limited number of lots so only selected items will be put into the online auction. You’ll be notified by our administrator if your piece has been selected for auction.

The online auction will open HERE for bidders on 26th September.

Bidders will have two weeks to bid on items. The auction will close October 10th 2020 at 9pm.

To help support engagement, those who have donated an item included in the auction will be asked to share the link to the auction within their networks, and on their social media accounts, during the bidding period.

HOMELINK will not be responsible for posting or collection arrangements of auction items – this will be an arrangement made between the winning bidder and donator.

For those bidding, winning bidders will be notified automatically at the close of the auction.

Full auction information will be available on the online auction page when the auction opens.

All prize winners will be announced on 10th October.
