The HOMELINK team is delighted to announce that £2500 has been raised for HOMELINK’s summer appeal thanks to a unique online auction and open garden event hosted by The Garden House, Brighton.

HOMELINK teamed up with the talented community at the Garden House who held the special open garden fundraising event on June 17th in aid of HOMELINK, alongside a ‘HOMELINK @ The Garden House’ online auction. Over 70 visitors turned out to support the event at the renowned city garden and enjoyed live music, prosecco, canapés, afternoon tea and hours of glorious sunshine.

The ‘HOMELINK at the Garden House’ online auction, which ran for two weeks preceding the open garden fundraiser, had its finale during the event. 84 bidders from across Sussex took part in the unique auction, which was comprised of beautiful botanicals, handcrafted items, gourmet delights and one-off experiences. In addition, 27 local businesses, artists, crafts people, supporters and volunteers contributed auction lots, which, as a standalone event, raised an incredible £2000.

Event organiser and HOMELINK Trustee, Jane Lee, said:

‘On behalf of us all at HOMELINK, I would like to thank everyone who so generously gave their time, energy and resources to help make the ‘HOMELINK@The Garden House’ event and auction such a success.

‘Between you all, you setup the auction, donated items, persuaded others to donate auction items, bid on auction items, baked cakes and canapés, engaged stallholders and musicians, helped on the day and even coerced partners to contribute their time and talents to the cause!

‘A total of £2500 was raised to support HOMELINK’s summer appeal, set up in response to the cost of living crisis. We are particularly grateful to the team at The Garden House who opened their gates in aid of HOMELINK this year. Thank you all.’
