Joan Wignall – HOMELINK’s Chair

Dear HOMELINK Supporters,

The HOMELINK team very much hope that you and yours are keeping well and are coping during this difficult Covid-19 lockdown time. We would like to thank you so much for your continued support.

As you will see from Pippa’s report, she has been much busier than usual dealing with an increased amount of applications. And, because of Covid, she is having to interview by phone. We are in the process of working out how to give Pippa more support.

Our on-line auction was a huge fundraising success and helped further raise HOMELINK’s profile in our area. Wasn’t it amazing – we raised nearly £6000! This is thanks to the huge amount of time, commitment and hard work put in by our Development Officer, Georgina Clare, and our fantastic team of volunteers. Adapting to online fundraising is new territory for many charities but we met the challenge head-on with a great idea, an incredible webpage and well-coordinated follow-up work after the auction. We are also thrilled to have gained a good number of new supporters as a result of the auction.

Just over a year ago (can you believe it?) we were getting excited and ready for our very special concert at Glyndebourne. HOMELINK’s profile was raised hugely and the amount of money raised was stunning. We are very grateful to Martha Robinson of MR Comms, who worked so hard to promote the concert. Martha has continued to support our work by acting as our Communications Consultant and delivering the launch of our latest campaign, #homes4families. Martha has proved to be a wonderful asset to the HOMELINK team.

We continue to feel well supported by our Church Representatives, and would like to thank them for their interest.

Finally, as we head into the festive season, on behalf of the whole HOMELINK team, I’d like to wish you all a very safe and happy Christmas.

With best wishes, Joan
