Our Volunteers
HOMELINK is a volunteer-led charity comprised of over 30 individuals
Profiled below are just a few of our dedicated team and the wonderful work they do. Volunteers help in a wide range of ways from occasional ad hoc support through to substantive roles.
We simply cannot deliver our vital local services without this assistance so if you would like to volunteer your time and skills, do get in touch – we would love to know how you could help, or let you know where we currently need support: volunteercoordinator@

Linda
Volunteer Coordinator
Linda has worked as a secretary for over fifty years. As Volunteer Coordinator, Linda receives and processes applications for new volunteers and reports on volunteer-related matters. She also supports HOMELINK’s fundraising campaigns by coordinating and distributing communications to homes across the Lewes District area.

Simon
Process Automation
Simon has worked in IT for 35 years and spent the last 10 years as a Salesforce CRM Solutions Architect. He is currently working with our staff and trustees to build and configure a cloud-based CRM tool to help automate HOMELINK’s business processes. Simon supports HOMELINK as he is concerned with the lack of social housing and high costs of private renting locally and nationally.

Rosemary
Fundraising & Events Team
Rosemary has been involved with several successful fundraising events for HOMELINK, making use of her extensive local networks, having lived in the area for over 50 years. Rosemary is the former Head of a local independent school and is an enthusiastic advocate of HOMELINK’s work.

Joanna
Fundraising & Events Team
Joanna has been in frontline roles for over 20 years working as a teacher and in office administration. Joanna is dedicated to helping alleviate poor housing conditions and previously managed HOMELINK’s small grants programme.

Jan
Long-standing Volunteer
Jan has a background in administration and volunteering and has experienced first-hand the threat of homelessness. With her sensitivity and understanding of the challenges faced by our clients, Jan has been involved with the interviewing of clients. Jan has supported HOMELINK in many different ways over the years including providing support in the office and with many different aspects of fundraising.

Bridget
Whatever is needed
Bridget has been a volunteer for HOMELINK since her retirement. Her Father was one of the founder members of HOMELINK.
Bridget supports HOMELINK in whatever capacity is needed – from baking for fundraisers and helping at events, through to delivering publicity leaflets. Formally a Bookseller and Teaching Assistant, Bridget currently serves as a School Governor and is actively involved in the Lewes community.

Pauline
Church Representative
Pauline is one of our much-valued Church representatives who help circulate HOMELINK news within the congregations in the Lewes District area. Church Reps offer practical support such as distributing emails, posters and information about HOMELINK; they also support our fundraising appeals.

Margaret
Church Representative & Interviewer Support
As a Church Representative for HOMELINK, Margaret circulates information about HOMELINK to her parish community. She also attends client interviews to assist with decisions offering loans. Margaret has been an active HOMELINK volunteer for over 18 years.
