On Sunday, December 5th, the Ashdown Singers delighted an audience at the St Thomas More church in Seaford with their magical Christmas repertoire. An impressive 80+ people also joined the concert online to hear the ensemble, which not only brought in the spirit of the festive season, but also raised an incredible £1300 for HOMELINK. A record for this annual fundraising event.

The Ashdown Singers are a group of 25 experienced voices, led by charismatic Musical Director, Sam Barton and are drawn from across East Sussex. The choir’s Christmas concert offering included major works, contemporary choral pieces and some Christmas favourites that got the audience singing along, despite masks!

Charitable work is an essential part of the choir’s ethos, which, over the years, has helped raise many thousands of pounds for local and national charities. The Ashdown Singers have supported HOMELINK for a number of years now by delivering their popular Christmas concert to raise funds for our service. Every penny raised will help HOMELINK assist those in crisis into homes this Christmas.

The HOMELINK team wishes to say a big thank you to the all the singers for sharing their stunning voices in aid of HOMELINK this Christmas and of course to all those who supported the concert in person (and virtually) and gave so generously. Additional thanks go to HOMELINK patrons, Maria Caulfield, MP and the Revd Barbara Evans-Routley, and Lewes District dignitaries Lesley Boniface, Steven Catlin, Gloria Hill and Rodney Reed who attended the event with their consorts.
